Full of angst ON Monday, May 14, 2012 AT 7:44 PM
That movie "Boys love 2" that I told you about earlier, let me just tell you that it, and the first movie that I've seen now, were both two of the most angsty movies I've ever seen.
There were always a jealous best friend that tried to kill one of the main characters! A lot of psychological damage and whatnot. In the first movie, he stabbed the guy until he died and his boyfriend just stood there before taking him to the ocean and drowning himself together with the guy.
In the second movie, the best friend committed suicide and jumped off a roof, and then the guy who liked him kidnapped the dead guy's love interest, raped him and assaulted him to the point where he was in a comatose state and couldn't move his body from neck and down.
Seriously!? Why do they make everything so dark? What's wrong with the cliché happy ever after ending?
Boys love 1
And don't get me wrong, I'm in all honesty a huge fan of angst because apparently I'm sick enough to enjoy the pain I get in my chest whenever something sad happens. But... this is just wrong?
I mean, they make it look like love drives people crazy to the point where they would rather kill their love and themselves instead of giving up and allowing the other to live happily.
Perhaps I just have a problem with angst when it comes from a psychological thing, because I really feel uncomfortable with people who's brain doesn't work properly, but.. urgh. This gives me the creeps. :P
