Grammar Headache ON Saturday, January 5, 2013 AT 8:51 PM
*sigh* Why didn't my mother slap me across the face, shake me senseless and throw me to the ground, the moment I told her I was gonna learn how to speak Japanese?
For whatever reason, I don't know if I should be thankful or mad at her. =_=
Deciding I've been slacking off too much lately, I took out my YesJapan Japanese from Zero 2 book and opened my computer to go look at the videos that I've missed.
Fair enough.
That is, until I pressed play and the damn grammar headache started. I swear, conjugating adjectives must be the most RIDICULOUS and horrifying thing in the whole world! For example:
Normally, it'd look like this:
あつい turns into --> あつくない and when u conjugate it further it's あつくなる
But when those freaking damn 2 i's are in the picture, it's like this:
かっこいい turns into かっこよくない which turns into かっこよくなる which is further conjugated to
かっこよくなった that conjugates to the negative かっこよくなかった.
=_=
see?
Okay, fair enough, the first example can be conjugated further as well to the last form that I used in the second example, but I didn't find it necessary. If you look at かっこよくなかった it's one hell of a lot of grammar, everything coming together to say "wasn't cool" >_<
WHY COULDN'T ANYONE STOP ME BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE T___T
It's not like I regret ever starting to learn Japanese, but I just feel like I've taken a challenge upon myself that is unnecessary complicated ._. get me? Oh well. Guess it's okay, I've pretty much gotten the hang of this ii->yoi thing that they have going on. >_>
I do too much for this heavenly city. n_n;;
